The build, step by step

Build the form

Cut the melamine base 75 mm larger than the board on all sides and wax every surface the epoxy might touch. Seal the inside corners with a continuous bead of silicone, then leak-test with a small splash of water.

Set the banks

Arrange the walnut halves so the live edges mirror each other without creating narrow choke points. Clamp them down through cauls or bridge blocks so buoyancy from the pour cannot lift the wood.
